Rail Transit System Quality Assurance Inspector
Location: Boston, MA
Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking qualified Rail Transit System Quality Assurance Inspector applicants possessing the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform tasks required of a Quality Inspector performing the quality inspections of rail cars to satisfactory meet all contractual testing and inspection requirements. The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Inspector include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform incoming, in process, testing, assembly, and final physical inspection of components and systems of railcars, to determine contractual specifications are met to approved procedures/drawings
Verify documentation (work orders, forms) is complete by qualified personnel
Work with operation personnel, supervisors, and managers to achieve quality and production goals
Investigate and assist in the solution of quality problems
Report adverse and / or non-compliant items and conduct follow up investigation to confirm that remedies have been put in place on the items before the car is released to subsequent processes / stages
Make disposition reports for any non-conforming equipment, product or repaired items or services, subject to verification
Perform and report receipt and pre-shipment inspections
Prepare and submit required documentation upon completion of inspections
Participate in quality and manufacturing audits and meetings
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
High School graduate with technical schooling or associate degree
Minimum of 5 years of rail vehicle experience - candidates with proven successful experience in repair/quality control of other complex transportation vehicles including aircraft or merchant/maritime vessels may be considered
Possess a detailed understanding of principles of operation, parameters and operating limits, system interfaces, safety precautions, and operations and maintenance schedules as they apply to design, systems, components, and supporting infrastructure
Understanding contractual documents requirements of general requirements, engineering change control, contract data requirements, standards, and reliability and maintainability
Experience and familiarity of quality assurance program requirements for purchasing, materials control, material inspection, nonconforming material, quality assurance audits, and audit reports
Ability to read and interpret drawings and use appropriate measuring devices
