Battle Force Intermediate Maintenance Activity (BFIMA) Training Program
UII's Battle Force Intermediate Maintenance Activity (BFIMA) training program builds on the curriculum of two highly respected training programs: the Shop Qualification Improvement Program (SQIP) and Onboard Maintenance Training (OMT) contracts, which UII won in five successful competitive bids after winning its first SQIP contract in 1982. Since then, more than 95,000 students have successfully completed the nearly 13,000 SQIP, OMT, and BFIMA courses UII has conducted at Navy installations worldwide, both ashore and afloat. The programs provide maintenance and repair training at two skill levels:
At fleet maintenance activities, where technicians are trained to bring equipment back to its original condition (I Level)
On board ships, where sailors learn the skills necessary to allow their ship to complete its mission (O Level)
UII designed and maintains a web site supporting the BFIMA training program. It provides course descriptions, schedules, reports, and other information to help the Navy's far-flung personnel obtain the training they need to get the job done.
