Laboratory Technician

 

Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) has an immediate opening for a Standards Calibration Technician. This position requires 10+ years experience, with PMEL training preferred. Applicant must be experienced in calibration, maintenance and repair of electronic, mechanical and temperature standards. Experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory a plus. Desire experience in statistical process control, uncertainty analysis, and knowledge of Windows-based software.

Fleet Data Analyst

 

 A privately held company in Springfield, VA has an opening for a team oriented, self motivated individual, for a position supporting the TRIDENT/SSGN Submarine Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment Life Cycle Support (TMDE LCS) and Calibration Program. 

 

Minimum Requirements:  High school diploma; must be able to travel; 3 years experience in data collection and analysis; experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project applications; excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills required.  Under the general supervision of the Data Quality Assurance Manager, the candidate will assume responsibility for ensuring integrity of the TRIDENT/SSGN installed data.  The candidate will be expected to participate in the TMDE Status Inspections (TSIs) onboard the TRIDENT/SSGN submarines; quarterly SSBN/SSGN 726 Class Design Change Consolidated Program Review meetings; and other meetings as required.  The candidate will be expected to provide clear, informative trip reports, action items, or meeting summations to management.  The candidate must be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and be able to work well independently or as part of a team.  Familiarity with data integration, user interface testing, and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Access is a plus.  U.S. Navy experience is a plus.

 

Must be a U.S. citizen for government security clearance.

US Navy Utilitiesman (UT) Technical Instructor

Unified Industries Incorporated (UII), a certified training provider for the United States Navy is seeking resumes for opportunities for qualified HVAC/Plumbing Instructors to teach and deliver US Navy Seabee Utilitiesman (UT) basic and advanced technical skills and principles to students in Port Hueneme, CA to qualify them for assignment as Utilitiesman (UT) in the Naval Construction Force and as a member of a trade crew on construction projects.

 

Job responsibilities

 

Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience should demonstrate a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems.   Training instructor must demonstrate knowledge and skill in: 

 

        HVAC/Plumbing Theory and Operation

 

        Fuels and Warm Air Heating Theory and Operation

 

        Motors and associated Controls

 

        Basic Refrigeration

           technical knowledge in the principles of project planning, estimating and

           utilizing various hand/power tools and construction materials.

 

         Monitors and evaluates student progress covering a full range of subjects

           at the secondary level courses, basic undergraduate courses (or

           equivalent), or broad courses in fundamentals and technical knowledge

           comparable to a Journeyman HVAC/Plumber. 

 

         Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of courses covering a wide variety of

            topics in the HVAC/Plumbing fields, as well as all facets of project

            management. 

 

·         Develops and administers examinations, retests, and coordinates supporting information. Orders career development courses and examinations, coordinates enrollment status changes, and schedules testing with training manager and supervisors.

 

Qualifications: The individual selected to perform, as a facilitator will:

 

          Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

          Have at least three years experience as a full-time instructor teaching        subject matter closely comparable to the type and level involved in the specific course to which he/she will be assigned.

          Successfully performed in an equivalent or directly related specialty for six 

            years. The three-year and six-year requirements may run concurrently.

          Experienced with stand up instruction in a classroom and lab

            environment.

       ·   Experienced in the development of training curriculum.

         Strong presentation and communications skills both verbal and written.

          Prior designation as a Navy Instructor (NEC 9502) and Master Training Specialist is highly desirable.

US Navy Construction Electrician (CE) Technical Instructor

Job responsibilities

Provides advanced technical instruction in electrical theory, the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of power distribution and ABFC systems, the installation and operation of street lighting systems, interior wiring systems, and motors and controllers under limited supervision.

Conducts classroom lectures and field instruction designed to impart technical knowledge in the principles of project planning, estimating and material take off, resource leveling and techniques of foremanship, as well as developing skills for a myriad types of low voltage electrical and power distribution/generation applications utilizing various hand/power tools and construction materials.

Monitors and evaluates student progress covering a full range of subjects at the secondary level courses, basic undergraduate courses (or equivalent), or broad courses in fundamentals and technical knowledge comparable to a Journeyman electrician.

Develops/updates lesson plans and field/lab performance grading sheets for broad range of courses in project management, construction electricity, power generation, and power distribution field skills equivalent to basic undergraduate or secondary level.

Develops and administers examinations, retests, and coordinates supporting information. Orders career development courses and examinations, coordinates enrollment status changes, and schedules testing with training manager and supervisors.

Knowledge of various construction electrical practices, methods, procedures and terminology including electrical theory, solid state fundamentals, interior wiring, branch circuit/service entrance conductor calculations, motors and controllers, power generation, power distribution/street lighting, and bucket/auger truck use and operation.

Qualifications: The individual selected to perform, as a facilitator will:

 

   Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  Have at least three years experience as a full-time instructor teaching subject

matter closely comparable to the type and level involved in the specific course to which he/she will be assigned.

 

  Successfully performed in an equivalent or directly related specialty for six years. The three-year and six-year requirements may run concurrently.

US Navy Equipment Operator Instructor

 Job responsibilities

Provides instruction in the construction operator field such as cranes and attachments, to include pile driving, crawler and rubber tire earth moving equipment, graders, fork lifts, loaders, trucks, tractors trailers, asphalt prep and placement, grade foremanship and equipment operators math. Typical courses include Cranes and attachments, Pile driving, crawler tractor, grader operations with and with out laser, MTVR’s, loaders, rough terrain forklifts, trucks, tractor trailers and proper loading, ditchers, asphalt paving and equipment operator math.

Conducts classroom lectures and field instruction designed to impart technical knowledge in the principles of job planning, project site layout, estimating and material take off, resource leveling and techniques of foremanship, as well as developing skills for various types of horizontal construction and operation applications utilizing various equipment and construction materials; Must be willing to qualify as a high risk instructor for Hookblock, Clamshell & Dragline and Piledriving crane operations.

Monitors and evaluates student progress covering a full range of subjects at the secondary level courses, basic undergraduate courses (or equivalent), or broad courses in fundamentals and technical knowledge comparable to a Journeyman Equipment Operator.

Develops/updates lesson plans and field/lab performance grading sheets for broad range of courses in project management, equipment operation field skills equivalent to basic undergraduate or secondary level.
